saga seeds The Saga Tree is indigenous to both India and China but can now be found all over the world, especially along the ancient Asian trade routes. The name “Saga” is traced to the Arabic term for goldsmith.

Early Chinese and Indian traders travelled with the distinctive red Saga seeds which look like tiny little heart shaped coral beads, helping it to propagate beyond China and India.
 
These seeds were used to weigh gold, silver and even diamonds as they are a surprisingly consistent measure.
